Rowe CD 100A Problem?
« on: March 18, 2011, 09:18:12 pm »
Hi, I have a rowe cd100 A model. it was working fine a few months ago. I unplugged it then. and I just plugged it back in and all the display reads is "0" we checked and the code is 14-06 and best we can tell is that code means low battery? does this sound right? the jukebox will do Nothing at all even after we cleared the code. can anyone give me any ideas? suggestions? or is it possible that it really is just a bad battery? and if thats the case. where is it ? what do they cost? and how hard is it to replace? thanks for any help.

14-06 error code means the battery inside the Central Control Computer (also simply called the CCC) is almost dead and needs to be replaced. The computer can't do anything else until the battery is replaced. This battery is originally a soldered-in "coin cell" style battery. Many technicians replace the battery with a solder-in battery holder that accepts a common CR2032 battery you can buy at any grocery/department/discount/hardware store to make future replacement easy.

OK, I found the battery on back of the CCC it IS soldered in. the number appears to be either R2430 or 22430. do I have to get an exact replacement battery since it has not been changed to the new type holder? or can I just solder in a CR2030? thanks again for the help
