Slikstik Quad Control Panel
« on: March 13, 2011, 03:43:42 am »
Firstly I know this company no longer exists, I am trying to find any sort of plans for this control panel as I am building a UAII cabinet and I like the look of the old Slikstik CP. I'm doing everything myself, all the building etc so if anyone could provide anything to help me out I would be most appreciative. I have done a search around on the internet but I have found very little on it.

Thanks again,

Jason.

There's a pretty clear image of it.  I have a modified slikstik classic blank sitting around,  gotta warn you,  these things are *really* big.  The classic is very similiar to the quad except the quad is longer and has a different arc cut for the top part.  Mine has the trackball,  spinner,  dedicated joystick,  asteroids buttons and all.

The classic measures in at...

17" width at it's maximum
~44" in length
with depth ranging from 4 3/4"(front) to 5 1/2"(rear)

You'd need to add width to hit 4 players,  but the rest of the measurements will work.  I've gotta ask though,  are you really sure you want this?  I ended up decided the thing was way too big to be used,  felt like I was trying to play games from the other side of the room. I suppose it would be workable in some sort of sitdown design,  but for anything else it's just way too big.  At nearly 4 feed long,  you've got people sitting almost 2 feet away from center,  it's really awkward.

Well I'm a bit stumped now. I realize the quad CP is 4 feet wide, though I don't know if I actually know if it's too big as I haven't made a template or anything yet.
I cannot seem to find a quad CP design which I'm fond of that will fit a Ultimate Arcade II cab that has DIY construction plans available. Mameroom.com only offer quad CP's to buy complete, which I'm sure are the same design as the old Slikstik ones.

I'm open to suggestions for a quad CP that will fit a UAII cab if someone has anything I can see.

Thanks!

Jason.

I got a SlikStik Quad before they disappeared.  I've been very happy with it.  I've modified it heavily.

I have several photos of it here: http://s242.photobucket.com/albums/ff97/infernolab/Arcade%20Game/?start=all

Some of them are nice plan view photos that you could use to recreate it on your own.

Jason.

They do sell blank quad panels starting at 150.00 depending on options. Price goes up if you want plexi or custom holes etc. Plus it's designed for the UAII.

ya http://mameroom.com/Products_Quad_Kit.asp is using the Slikstik design. I am pretty sure that it is exact.

Yeah it is, though it doesn't really help me with building one.
