Raider pro's still available?
« on: August 24, 2003, 09:10:31 am »
I want to include one in my (proposed) new 1Up/frostillicus cab but haven't seen them in best buy recently--are they still around even?  Anyone see one in their local store?

If menace doesn't take you up on it, I'd like them.  Is that okay with you?

I have 2 of them.  One black one which I've had for years lying around and one blue I got on Ebay for $3.

Pros: It's symmetrical, so it is good for a dual stick setup, it's translucent (for a pseudo Tron-like look) and it's cheap (or was cheap, they're not made anymore)

Cons: not exactly arcade authentic, no longer in production, some have comlpained about the "rubbery" feel of the grips.

All in all, a decent cheap solution for a DIY trigger stick hack.  BTW, we aren't really using the stick as is, the handles are usually hacked to mount on Happ joysticks or the like.

Been watching E-bay for this stick myslef. Havent seen a blue in  a long time  :(  BestBuy had them for $4 and I forgot to buy one, now they are OOS. Media play Alos carriied them (as stated above) and would be a good place to look. Getting harder to find. I see the REPO Tron/Satens Hollow sticks are on E-bay alot now.. so if all else fails look for them.

I see those tron repros and they look good--you get what you pay for with those thats for sure--I would still prefer to go the cheaper avenue and get the raider but if i ever came across a tron joystick i would be passing the raider on to the next guy on this board. ;D
