multiple downloads...?
« on: March 02, 2011, 08:01:12 pm »
Hey I was curious if there is a way to download multiple roms/isos at once, instead of waiting for each file.

as per the site rules, I'm not asking where to get them. I just want to know if there is a program capable of cueing multiple downloads.

If you don't know anything about "torrents" you should really look that up.
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

I know a little about torrents. I've amassed a huge movie collection thanks the them. But when I got searching for a specific game and that game has 13 parts to it, it gets a little annoying waiting for each to download before beginning the next part.
"Game" part 1
"Game" part 2
"Game" part 3
"Game" part 4
etc.

I guess I just assumed there was an easier way to do it.

im sure there is and google is your friend. Folks remember to tread lightly in these matters as we cant indulge in this type of talk for the sake of the site.

                                  Thx.

Sorry, my bad. I'm just very new to emulators and it can be very frustrating getting them to work properly.

If you're new to emulation and struggling with downloading, you got a looong way to go.

With regards to download accelerators, DAP (Download Accelerator Plus) is a great free download accelerator, and there are a few others that will let you queue files in a list to download, but bear in mind that sites that host a lot of file content like rom sites have scripts these days that will prevent these type of programs from working. You will find most active rom sites will disable bots (so queuing will not work) and will temporarily block your IP from downloading if it detects multiple connections (which is how accelerators work).

Torrents or filehosting sites are your best bet, but we can't point you to them.

Where did you get all yours from?

That is a huge collection there.
