Legit site selling arcade games?
« on: March 02, 2011, 02:50:46 pm »
I know the rules say, no illegal ROM sites. But this appears to be a legit site, selling games (not roms, as far as I can tell) and they only have a few arcade titles, but a few are good ones.
The site is: http://www.classicgamingpresent [link removed]

Like I said, they only have a handful of arcade titles, notably The Simpson and MK1-3. I noticed they also have Bart vs. the Space Mutants, which I'm pretty sure that was on NES, not for an arcade.

I've e-mailed and asked them if the titles are 'fully licensed' for sale in the US. No reply yet.

The site doesn't look great, nor do the game images. But it seems to me, if they were pirating games, they'd pick more popular ones.

Anyone hear of this site? I 'm just curious if it's legit.

I should have done more research before I posted. A google search for "classicgamingpresents legit" reveals some of their customers confirming that they are just running Dosbox for some of their games:

Sorry, for not checking it out before I posted. I'll remove the link from the original message to comply with board policies.

They're not the arcade versions anyway, they're the PC ports of those games that are readily available for download from many places. Totally not licenced, totally shite.
