New to Jukin have Rowe CD-100
« on: February 22, 2011, 06:22:59 pm »
I have wanted J box for long time bought one, well 2 from vending dealer.  One works OK one does not. Here so far is what I know:  Powers up, but no play. Front panel where covers are kept will turn pages but unit will not play.  About every 30 seconds the display on front shows checksum=A400 then ram test passed.  Board inside by cd player shows board error.  I have swapped this board, main board and one in the upper right with the unit that works but nothing helped.  Tech the dealer put me in touch with said loose wire somewhere but I have poured over this thing and cannot find it.  Any advice or help getting me going here is greatly appreciated.

Hop over to the jukebox forum at www.phonoland.com and make a posting there. User, "ami-man" (Alan Hood) should be along shortly there to help.

Hello jukin,

Do you have a manual for the CD-100 Laser Star jukebox?
If not I sugest you get one and read it fully.

You need to check all the boards for dry joints (called cold joints in the USA) on all the connection pins on the boards. This needs to be done from the power supply and then on all the boards.

The looms can be a problem where the molex connection (a folded over metal arrangement) can become weak so it does not make contact correctly with the pin on the board. To check these hold them up to the light, if the gap seen is larger than the others then the connection can be removed from the molex plug and unfolded slightly to put more pressure on the connection.

Please let us know how you get on.

I too am new to Jukin and just bought a Rowe 100B jukebox. It's my first jukebox. The spinning disc display on top turns but doesn't light up. Also, the lights in front of the lower speaker grill do not light up. The bulbs are good. I put a volt meter on both locations and there is no power. Does anyone know if there is a fuse somewhere that that regulates power to these lights?
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Ken has answered your question on www.phonoland.com regarding the CD100B.
Check out the resistor mounted on the tag strip in the amplifier compartment.

Thanks Alan,
I replaced the resistor as you and Ken suggested. The lights in the lower panel now work, but I am still having issues with the ones in the spinning display.

Hi Steve,

I have been looking at the 100-B manual and there is not a cabinet wiring diagram,

I have looked at a CD100 cabinet and can see that there is a small connector for the small lamps around the Animation window, listed in manual 7-2 under door lighting is the flouescent and the 11 watt incanescent (these must be 110/120volt) but also liisted is 14 volts incandecent lamps.

I would check to see if you are getting 14 volts at this small connector and trace it back in the jukebox, it looks as if it comes down into the amplifier compartment.

I hope this helps.

Regards

Alan
