Looking for plans, or better pictures of 1942 cab
« on: February 19, 2011, 10:51:31 pm »
Does anyone know of any?, the specific cab I'm looking for is this one:

Also, does anyone know if there is full artworks available for it?, I've found some files, but not everything. (1943, 19xx, etc would do if 1942 is not available)

Thanks!

I'm not sure it was available as a dedicated game. I think it was a conversion kit only IIRC.

I sincerely have no idea, but this picture appears at klov, and 1944 and 19xx I think show similar cabs, so I thought it was some kind of style for this game and sequels.

In any case, any game that has a cab in with this aspect would do from a building perspective.

To me, it looks like a normal cab with the top cut off. The marquee moved to top of monitor in a ractangular box and the top of the sides curved from CP to marquee. I think you just need to find a cab style that is very similar and make modifications from there.

Somewhat similar style:

I think that cabinet style is typically referred to as a Lowboy. Not real common in the US, think they were popular in Australia. Searching for that name might find you some more examples.

Indeed, I found some more examples, having a name is good, thanks!

Here are some plans, they are the same ones intended for the wood in my garage.

http://users.on.net/~holdennut/Lowboy_Cabinet_Plans_v3.pdf

They are taken from this post:  http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=58451.msg576030#msg576030

I had sent you a pm about, but this is easier and wouldn't require a separate viewer.

Heres another example of a lowboy design that is currently being built by one of the BYOAC members.

Some of the stuff pictured on KLOV is conversions, so its not always representative of the original dedicated game, if applicable.
