Multiple mice problem
« on: February 18, 2011, 05:19:30 pm »
Every time I restart the computer in my cabinet each mouse device (trackball, guns, spinner) keep getting recognized as a different mouse. How do I prevent this from happening?

(Yes, multiple mice is turned on in mame.ini, not sure if that's part of the problem)

is this related to your aimtraks?

Everything works great now but the devices get different names each time I restart so I have to redo the settings. Trackball and Spinner go from Mouse 1 and 2 to mouse 3 and 4 and the aimtraks go from guns 1 and 2 to guns 3 and 4. So I'll reset the configs and they'll switch again.

with the aimtraks, go into the aimtrak config program and assign device ids to them. That will solve that part of the problem as long as you don't unplug them

It's a windows issue, I'm afraid.  A few threads that may help:

There seem to be a few different suggestions that you may try.  u_rebelscum hasn't logged in here in about a year unfortunately.  He was always the best resource in this area.

I don't know if ControllerRemap works with mice or not but I'd love to see that feature added if it doesn't

drventure are you out there?
