Astro/Blast City Kick Harness question
« on: February 15, 2011, 03:58:42 pm »
Can someone please explain what is involved in installing a kick harness into a blast or astro city cabinet?

As far as I can tell, the extra six buttons go to the oblong plug under the control panel.

Here is where I'm lost.  I read that something needs to go to the pcb on the cash box.  Do I need another harness for this?

Reason I am asking is I can have a generic CP installed before my cab ships OR I can buy one later and install it myself (provided I know how to).

New Astro City shown below.  Connectors are left to right: speaker, P1 harness, P2 harness, kick harness, ground.  I had to buy the harness that goes from buttons 4, 5, 6 to the control panel connector.  I believe they come from the factory with the connector and wires that go from the connection panel to the bottom of the cabinet.  The wires terminate in a 10 pin Japanese style plug.

Blast City shown below.  Connectors are left to right: kick harness, P1 harness, P2 harness, ground.  I hadn't bought the extra control panel harness at the time I took the picture, so it's not plugged in.  On the Blast City, they were factory wired with the wires that go from the connection panel down to the I/O board that's attached to the coin box.  From there it terminates in a row of 8 pins.

Hope that helps some.
