Happs 27" Bezel (was Dented Ball)

my trackball is rather cheap and has some small dents in it.  I was wondering if there was a good way to try and smooth this out again.  epoxy and sand? car body filler maybe?  any ideas of should I just buy a new better ball?  I would like a black one to go with the black everything else on my cabinet

FWIW, BobRoberts replacement TB balls are cheaper than direct from Happs.

I'm not too sure what they cost, but I gotta order a 27" bezel for sure.  I cannot find anyone in Canada that supplies it so I am gonna have to suck it up, might as well get a few things and pay for the shipping once instead of getting it from separate places and pay several shipping charges, even if happs shipping is more than the actual product you order

Watch out for the bezel.  They charge a TON for shipping.  It ended up being over 40 bucks and you don't know it until it comes to your door.

I would but I really want a professional looking bezel and I don't think I could make one look as good.

Anyone know of a Canadian distributor for Happs that would or at least might have the 27" monitor bezel?

Just drop happs an email and ask for a canadian distributor--I can't be 100% sure but I believe there is one in Mississauga (right near T.O.)  Oh yeah--I did the black cardbord with plexi and its nearly as hard as you think--just turn the monitor one, lay some tracing paper over it--trace, then cut with your cardboard underneath..looks clean and simple

I kinda like the look of it being inset, like beveled edges and I don't hink I could make it as good with cardboard as a factory molded plastic one...  I might give it a go and see how it looks, and if it doesn't turn out I can always order the one from happs...

So I found a canadian distributor of the bezel. When it arrived I was super excited.  But alas it doesn't fit my 27" TV very well :-(  I don't know what to do about it.  The TV trim covers about 1/4" too much and the bezel doesn't quite fit inside the tv's trim.   I think I might end up making one out of cardboard anyhow and end up selling this one.  How has it fit other peoples TV's that bought one of the happ 27" monitor bezels?  

I have a couple of options I guess:
1) remove the tv cabinet completely (dangerous and my cabinet wasn't really made to fit a cabinetless TV)
2) cut away some of the tv's trim with a dremel tool (might do but then the tv is pretty much ruined for use as a TV)
3) make a cardboard one and sell this on ebay.

Any other ideas?

My 27" bezel fit fairly well.  It is not completely touching the screen, but the tv case blends in pretty well.  Check my website for photos.

That IS doable, and is the route I would go in your situtation.

You will likely have to secure the tube to the rest of the case with some of those strong plastic zip tie things.

hmmm ... my 27" bezel from Happs only cost me $27 (bezel only).

it comes in a fairly big box ... maybe that explains the extra for the shipping.

dimensions were 29-1/2 x 29-1/2 (at least thats what mine were)

... it does suck though ... you won't know what you paid for shipping till it shows up at your door.

Its a nice finishing touch ... but if your strapped for cash ... I would go with a different alternative

I have been looking closer at the TV and I think I might be able to just take the front Trim off and still keep the back mostly on.  I really don't want to remove the entire TV housing... I don't really know how I will keep it all together tho.  Gonna need to do some investigation and not kill myself in the process

I don't about all TV's in use out there, but the one I used to use as well as all others I have had open, had the tube bolted to that front cover. I.e. it was the only thing supporting the tube.

It's not a simple matter to just "take the front cover off".  You'll need to come up with an alternate face plate of some nature, like a piece of plywood, and cut a hole in it the same size and shape as the face of your CRT.  Then youll need to bolt the CRT to it using the mounts at the 4 corners of the tube.

After you do that, you'll find that your bezel will fit much better .

But on the other hand, if you use a dark piece of smoked plexi, you could probably just leave it the case and no-one would be the wiser.

I think you are right Randy.  I messed around with it and there is really only a small portion of the 2 top corners that doesn't get fully covered.  If I could tape or velcro it on there is enough flex in it that it would cover 99% of the tv's trim.  the thing that sucks is my TV's frame is silver :-/  ahh well I think like you said some smoked plexi and it won't be noticable at all.

My TV was silver as well.  I went and bought some black electrical tape and masked off the areas that the Happs bezel wouldn't cover.  Then  I took my plexiglass to an auto-tint place.  Everything turned out well and it's nothing anyone ever notices.  See pics on my website...
