There aren't too many shows that I dislike, but not too many that I have to watch every episode. I've always enjoyed Curb Your Enthusiasm, Family Guy, The Shield, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia and most times Survivor. Also, I miss the reality show 'The Mole'.

The one show that I really just don't get, and I'd have to say is considered one of the most popular, is Two And A Half Men. I have yet to snicker or chuckle once during that show. Maybe I just find it too predictable. A close 2nd would be Big Bang Theory.

I can't believe I forgot about this pile of crap. It's supposedly the number 1 comedy but it's never funny and the plot is nearly identical from episode to episode. I know 3 people that like it, all over 40.

There's really just NOTHING on tv much anymore that's worth spending my time with... the Wife and I almost gave up tv completely when LOST finished last year, but we got into watching Biggest Loser (mainly for Jillian) and that's still about the extent of our TV watching. (We're on the local digital channels, no cable or satellite.) The networks' idea of comedy, drama and "reality" just really doesn't appeal.

Family Guy and Big Bang Theory are by far the funniest US shows on at the moment (although admittedly they don't face much competition).

That being said, I can (sort of) understand why someone might not like BBT. Its structure is a bit formulaic, and the canned laughter can grate after a while. But Family Guy is comedy gold. Far funnier than The Simpsons.

I guess Shmokes must be watching those shows in the wrong way.

Heh . . . I'll tell you what, I can't watch Family Guy with fans because I ruin it for them. People think I'm full of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- when I say they deliver 20 or 30 utterly unfunny jokes for every one that makes you smile. And I'm talking seriously not-funny . . . like if you were with someone and they cracked the same joke you would have one of those uncomfortable moments when a joke is so bad you struggle to even fake a polite chuckle. But then after I say that to them and then we watch an episode it is undeniable. A friend I was staying with a couple months ago was calling crazy for saying Family Guy sucked, then his roommate happened to pop in her DVDs the next day and after about five minutes my friend looked at me and said, "I hate you. You've ruined family guy for me."

Don't get me wrong. It's periodically hilarious. It's just far more often (almost exclusively) bad. It's like they put a hundred monkeys in front of a hundred typewriters. Most of what they write is garbage, but given enough time one of them writes something funny out of sheer coincidence.

The South Park description of Family Guy's writing team was awesome. I stopped watching South Park many years ago but did catch that and it seems entirely plausible. I can't deal with Family Guy for more than a couple minutes. The good things about Peter Griffin were stolen from Homer Simpson and the rest is all South Park.

The Cartoon Wars episodes were awesome. South Park is pretty much the only thing I watch anymore.

Gotten way to sick of shows written for 5 year olds and the "reality" crap that gives me brain damage. I'm amazed 99% of the crap is on the air tbh.

I actually thought about you last night shmokes, I was watching an episode of Family Guy last night, I believe it was the newest one, and it DID suck. At least compared to the old ones.

So much sucks right now that I can only name one show currently running (well, it's between seasons) that I love:

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

No show has ever made me laugh harder.

My wife even bought me Charlie's horse shirt for Valentine's Day.

I tried to watch that show. I guess I just don't like shows about annoying and useless people bitching about stuff that means nothing to anyone other than themselves.

Yes, I couldn't stand Seinfeld for the same reason. I just don't care about their stupid little inconsequential problems. It would only be funny if they got killed at the end of every episode in some ironic and painful way. A show about nothing has no value to me.

You damn ---uvula---. I spent years trying to forget that social circle jerk of a show ever existed.

Everything else Seinfeld does suck ass too. The Bee Movie is a perfect example of the self effacing garbage he likes to create. I guarantee all of his crap will disappear into permanent obscurity upon his death. His existence on this planet will only be noted by obsessive collectors who must have every film created and archivists checking off their catalogue list.

Oprah, Tyra Banks show, ... pretty much anything fat housewives watch in the afternoon. (Am I being unfair? It's like shooting fish in a barrel when it comes to women's daytime programming).

I've noticed that women's programming mainly consists of gossip, make overs, or watching other people argue or have outrageous problems in their lives. And it all boils down to making them feel better about themselves by seeing how screwed up others are.

When I don't go to work and I see the ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- my wife watches during the day when she is home, it is all a bunch of people arguing and fighting with every other word beeped out..whether it is those court shows or the talk shows or the soap operas. It all consists of one of the things I mentioned above. Women must get high off of extreme drama.

I've recently been sorta watching the sci-fi show "Farscape". Interesting premise, but from what I've seen of the show itself, it's not quite that good. Only saving grace for the show is one cast member... Claudia Black.

the first seasons of FOTC was pretty bad, seriously it was boring and torture to sit through. I also don't get most of british humor. Except this one clip where some guys are in a grocery store talking about fruit as if it was technology.

Monty Python .. except that scene from the holy grail with the black night, everything else was boring to me. Oh and the British "The office" man oh man a snore fest.

Now I'm not saying it's not good, just that I don't get why it's funny. Shawn of the dead was really good though.
