Importing MAME games list from another machine
« on: February 08, 2011, 01:08:34 pm »
I am trying to import lists from my friend's configuration, but the imported lists won't launch the games in the front end.  I presume there is some differing path data or some other configuration-specific data embedded in the .lst binary.  Am I doing something wrong?  Is there some way I can make this work?

I am using the latest version of Maximus, which I just downloaded a couple of days ago.  My friend's .lst files may be from a substantially older version - I am not sure if he's been keeping up on updates, but he's been running Maximus for at least a couple of years now...

Thanks!

The paths need to be exactly the same for it to work.

For example, if your friend has MAME in c:\mame and yours is in c:\programfiles\mame it will not work work.  They need to match exactly.

Thanks.  Guess I'll just replicate the lists by hand.

Hey Delusional

I just moved my roms to an external drive and now my games from my Favorites lists don't launch
is it related to the path like you stated above?
Seems that a rescan gets the game list to work but none of my other lists, man that sucks I have a bunch of pretty long lists
Anyway to export then import the lists?
