Noob Question - Mame and Neo Geo
« on: February 07, 2011, 09:34:37 am »
Hi all im new to the forum and just after some basic info atm.

I have just bought a Neo Geo 1 slot candy cab which i would like to convert to a Mame machine.

I have some guides on how to wire this up with an ipac type board but i would like to know if its possible to wire in both systems (NG and Mame) at the same time and if there is a wiring guide for this available anywhere?  Specifically the button wiring for both systems or is it possible to just double wire each button one for each system?

Also the monitor in the cabinet how is the best way to run the existing system and also connect to a mame machine - Is this even possible or would i need to disconnect the monitor every time i wanted to use the other system?

Thanks

You probably would be best served getting something like a JPAC:
http://www.ultimarc.com/jpac.html

and a 'jamma switcher':

This would allow you to keep the existing neogeo configuration, and hook the PC into the jamma interface without having to re-wire everything.
