qsound amp + mame pc ?

Hi I'm trying to get my mame pc up and running in my cab Ive got the video and controls sorted but the sound is the big problem.  My cabinet is wired for stereo but when i connect the rca jacks from the qsound amp to the pc all I get is something like a static pulse that repeats itself. If i disconnect the jpac from the jamma harness leaving the rca jacks in the pc and then connect a cps2 board to the harness I get clear sound from the pc.  Could this have anything to do with the fact that the jpac doesnt draw power from the edge connector?
