Cabinet Plans (other than Jakobud)
« on: January 17, 2011, 10:34:45 pm »
I have gone to Jakobud's page and love the effort he has put in... however, there are still some great cab plans out there that are not listed.  Does anyone know a resource for others, or could post similiar plans to jakobuds they have available for their cabinets.

Examples include the likes of 720 and Paperboy etc.

I always recommend Gozer's collection of full 3d models from Google Sketchup 3D warehouse. I rarely see it mentioned here and I'm not sure why.

He has over 300 cabinet models, just make sure you have Google Sketchup.

You can download a free basic version that should do what you need.

If you're not familiar with Sketchup, after downloading and opening the cabinet model you want, double click the model and than use the dimension tool to highlight and drag out the sides and dimensions you want.

Most of Gozer's models are accurate to within an inch or half an inch, but make sure you read the description. Also, some of his models overlook a few little details that may be important to you, like insets or radii. If thorough accuracy in recreating this cabinet matters, you may want to research and know everything about the cabinet you want to build before relying too much on his models so you can make any proper additions or adjustments to something he missed.

However, if you at least want the cabinets side profile, Gozer is a great source.

Here is his model of Paperboy:

He hasn't made a model of 720 yet, but thankfully Gozer isn't the only one who has remodeled and submitted cabinets on Google. You can always find more cabinets from other users on the site.

Here's a 720 one from 720ZONE:

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Nice!!
Gozers cabinet models are real sweet.
I can't imagine why they are not talked about here more often.
