Video card
« on: January 08, 2011, 11:53:37 am »
First of all, Sorry this got posted in the wrong thread for some reason. I wanted it here and it ended up in the MALA frontend thread so I apologize that it's been posted twice!

NOW,

Hey y'all. It's been awhile since I've had to get information about my MAME system, but I am finally able to replace the old HP with a newer (and faster) HP that will run all my games without the "studders".

Anyway, my question is regarding a video card with the S-video out. Are video cards universal? Can I put a card pulled from a Dell into my HP and have it work properly as long as it's PCI-E?

Now my other question has to do with size!! lol.......is 128MB plenty for MAME graphics?

more video memory is better, I dont think they even make a card under 256 anymore.

If it helps any, you can also find VGA to S-Video cables.
