I know VAntAGE has fantastic built in menu to set up arbitrary refresh rate. I know DOS TSRs can turn PC resolutions of ordinary VGA cards into 15kHz compatible signal, and I know AdvanceMAME (AdvanceCAB) has few such tools too. What I do not know is if there is anything beside VAntAGE that can output the whole range, covering not just 50Hz and 60Hz, but also everything in between.

* Moon Patrol @ 57Hz - is AdvanceMAME supposed to generate some resolution @ 57Hz, or is it only concerned with aspect ratio and all resolutions are always exactly @ 60Hz (50Hz)?

* Is mainstream MAME, DOS or Win, able to produce resolutions with refresh rates other than 60Hz?

* Is ArcadeVGA able to produce resolutions with refresh rates other than 60Hz?

* Is "soft15kHz" able to produce resolutions with refresh rates other than 60Hz?

...or, in short:
- What software/hardware is able to produce vertical refresh other than 60Hz?

Btw, why option "-monitor pal" in MAME has resolutions @ 57Hz instead of 50Hz?

Powerstrip. Prepare to do a lot of reading before asking more questions.

Why would anyone use 'Powerstrip' instead of 'AdvanceMAME' for DOS/Linux and 'Soft15kHz' for Windows?

So, mainstream MAME is still not able to emulate authentic resolutions/refresh rates?

MAME does what the video drivers tell it to do, which are at the system level. To access the video drivers, you need things like mentioned above.
