What Jukebox Software do you use?
« on: December 30, 2010, 02:47:02 am »
I asked this in the Audio/Jukebox/MP3 thread, but no one is really answering.  So I thought I'd try here.  I'm wanting to add a Jukebox program to my MAME cab, but Not sure which program is best.  I'm looking for one that has some nice visual effects while songs are playing.  Can anyone suggest any programs that will do this that are awesome?

There's another new thread asking about jukebox apps, but not ones with visual effects. I assume you mean kinda like Windows Media player?

DWJukebox (http://dwjukebox.com/) is my personal favorite. But, it doesn't have any effects (least in the versions I've used--I don't think it's been added). WinAmp has a graphical EQ and is skinable, but the last version I used (years ago) wasn't cab friendly. With some of the more powerful front-ends and scripting tools you might get it to work.

Scott (from MAMEroom), has one that I think has visuals, but it's not free so I've never used it. There's a trail version though: http://www.mameroom.com/vmj
