FS: PSP with custom firmware
« on: December 27, 2010, 11:38:40 am »
I havent posted on this forum (or any forum in awhile) but im starting to get back into arcades and im trying to fund a new lcd cab build. So Im wanting to get rid of some stuff starting with this.

Im trying to sell my psp. I bought it at launch. It has been played very little mostly the snes emulator. It has firmware version 5.50 gen-d3. It can play full games off of the memory stick I have also used a neo geo emulator and a snes & genesis emulator.

It comes with:
twisted metal
untold legends
spider man 2 (no case this was bundled with the psp when new)
demo disc
and 4 clear disc cases
charger
2gig sandisk memory stick.
logitech case

This is the nicest used psp you are going to find adult owned never played by anyone but me. No scratches perfect screen no dead pixles screen protector since I first opened it. The small spot in the lower right corner of the screen is where the screen protector peeled up. no other air bubbles. Id like to get $150 shipped in the us I would like to get payment as a paypal gift or you pay the paypal fees. I can also list this as a buy it now on ebay if you would prefer do to my low post count on here.

PICS CAN BE FOUND HERE http://www.flickr.com/photos/43878623@N06/sets/72157625558694819/

also have lots of feedback on ebay under muell67

I don't know if you know this but I'm sort of a big deal. I own many leather bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

"firmware version 5.50 gen-d3"

Is this the latest firmware version that will play all games, including the most recent ones?

its the newest hacked one that I know of. It plays everything I have ever tried. I will look into it a little more though to make sure. I mostly used it for emulators. Im a big snes fan.

psp hacks says it should play games requiring fw 6.20+ it looks to be the newest custom firmware available for download. It is really easy to upgrade if a new one comes out later.

So, the latest Custom PSP Firmware is 6.10Gen or 6.20GEN?

And your PSP is firmware version 5.50 gen-d3, but can play all the games that 6.20 + can play?

I've been out of the PSP loop for a while and just want to understand correctly as I'd like it to have the latest custom firmware available so I won't have any trouble playing the newest games.  Thanks.

5.50 GEN-D3 is the newest firmware available but 6.20 is in the works but is not done yet. However from what I read people have been able to play games requiring the official 6.20 with the custom 5.50 gen-d3 but I have not tried any new games myself as I dont own any so I can not confirm this. I just check every few months and see if I have the newest firmware just to keep it up to date. I updated the firmware 3 times now. Its really easy if and when they release 6.20 just go to www.psp-hacks.com and then custom firmwares.

once there already flashed prior you just plug them into the pc and push update and let it do its thing pretty much so there is no effort in upgrading them or downgrading them.
