First Bartop (Floor Top) Cabinet! Bubble Bobble Theme

What in the heck is a floor top?    Well, we don't have anywhere to put a bartop in our apartment so I am going to make a bartop that sits a little higher.  It will be perfect height to sit in front of on the floor or preferably with bean bags.  I think I am going to make a mini version of a Midway/Williams cab.  http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=8754.  The custom artwork for the CP and marquee will be based on this http://arcadeartlibrary.com/arcade_art/details.php?image_id=537&mode=search.  I am undecided if I will include a bezel or not.  I've already started on the artwork in Illustrator and Gimp and almost have the dimensions of the cab finalized.  This may end up being a work non-stop until christmas project since my daughter would love to uncover it on christmas morning.     As long as I get a custom stick finished for a friend by tomorrow night (promised him) I'll start on the bartop.

sounds like a great idea with lack of room.  you could also build it module.. what i mean.. is build a bartop.  with a removable base.  good luck and look forward to your progress.

Sweet another Bubble Bobble lover!
I do hope you finish this there has been alot of talk from people to build a Bubble Bobble themed cab but I think I have been the only one to build one.

Might not make it in time for Christmas.  Woke up today feeling like I had the flu but still went at finishing the stick for my friend.  I ended up butchering the box and plexi.  Was trimming the front edge and my jigsaw wandered over somehow even with a straight edge clamped down.  Alls I had to do was lay down the artwork and wire it up.....  Figures, first box I try to sell lol.     Off to the woodworking forums!  Might just wait until we move into a house, my brother offered to let me use his table saw and router.
