Speaker interference from jukebox page turning
« on: December 19, 2010, 02:42:22 pm »
I am having an issue with interference from my  in-wall speaker mounted about two inches to the left of my wall mount jukebox.  When you turn the title pages, the motor apparently gives interference to that speaker.  It happens only for a second each time you turn the page. You can hear a burst of static.  I can't move the speakers due to the location of the jukebox.  Does anybody know if there is a way to shield the speaker from the interference?

You might try shielding the wire going to the speakers before trying to shied the whole speakers.   Depending on where the motors get their power there maybe some other noise filtering issues.

What would you suggest for shielding the wire?

I would replace the wire with shielded wire that is made for the purpose but I would think that in foil strips wrapped around the wire with a bare copper wire on the outside that you can ground might serve for test purposes.
