IPAC driver problem
« on: December 08, 2010, 09:46:45 pm »
Ive been using this IPAC fine for a while, then i wired a new button to it and suddenly Windows doesnt know what it is.
Theres a device called SM BUS CONTROLLER that it cant find a device for and the IPAC doesnt work although it has a green light

any ideas?

I think i got the driver for that thing ok, its not got a yellow mark against it in device manager any more (installed the DELL chipset driver pack)

but is my IPAC fried?

I hit program, it makes a bunch of 'uninstall' and 'install' beeps,
I see the Human Interface devices move around in device manager then
says driver installed ok but then 'failed to program device'

WTF

the keyboard attached to it doesnt work either
is it ---fouled up beyond all recognition---?

Unplug it and try it USB if you are PS2 or try PS2 if you are USB.

Sounds like it is not responding.   DOA?   Time to talk to Andy?  Why are you always programming it?  What do the defaults do for you?

Wanna give massive props to Andy from http://www.ultimarc.com/

Had an IPAC go bad, he replaced it free of charge, and seeing what the Royal Mail charged to send it back to me (to the USA) he took a bit hit on this one without hesitation.

Great after sales service mate! Thanks
You rock dude!
