Big Buck Hunter Pro info
« on: November 29, 2010, 03:02:33 pm »
was just wondering if any operators/technicians have any info on the workings of the I/O board used in the Big Buck Hunter Pro / Safari Hunter machines. Namely how the system deals with the information related to the gun position. I would like to build some deluxe cabinets with some plasma displays, but as we all know the optical system is not compatible with these types of displays.

The deluxe cabinets I have seen have used the SEGA type of optical pickup with the infra red sensors to get around this issue. same as the projection monitor games.

Does anyone know how the BBH computer actually processes the gun info for use in the game? i was taking a look at the ultimark aimtrak, it uses a similar system optically as the SEGA type pickup, and would work in this type of setup, but i'm not sure about the tracking info provided by it. I'm likely barking up the wrong tree here, if anyone knows of a way to do it i'd entertain it.

no...but apparently the new HD versions that use lcd/plasma displays use a USB board that keeps track of the gun position.

we will be ordering an big buck HD unit in the near future. I'll see if i can't find out what the deal is.

hi
it is all handled through the  gate arry >the coustom 64-84 pin chip<
down by the video card header
right beside u63 which carry's the board build info
it is tied there through a gate right beside where it say's gun here/track-ball there header's,this same chip also handel's all of the jama input's
most think it is the processer when in trough it is not it is just a complex gate arry

mainly i was wondering if it was just a mouse cursor x/y...where something like the aimtrak (mouse emulation) could be hacked to work.

hi
i do need to correct myself
u2 is the gate arry
u14 is the micro
and to answer your q >>yes<<
u recieved bootrom 2.0.9 from me corret ?
if so then u just recode it to take what u want at the input
j501,then u recode u22 i do believe
to the specific x-y on the input
if it is the same then no need to worrie
u can tear down u22 code set in a newyork sec
lord i may have it already in backup
u53 is your son of gun chip >key-chip<
up here in great white north we can ditch the modem :it's uless to us:
also u17 need's a look see
u53/u17/u22 are all atmel's,u can use a  atmel unlocker to reset there fuse's
i should also have them in back-up,lord know's i go through enough of these board's
u can also ditch the dallas if it is giving grief.?,as it has reached it's time line
10-20 year's,it is olny used as real time clock/ high score/pricing
on the pricing side the board will default
there is also another chip u can ditch >u26<
the 1 u cannot ditch is u61
but your gun should tie right in
if u need the printout?
send me the model # i will pin it out for u
as to it working on lcd/plasma..i have never tested it that way
i know the new buck's/golden t live use the blackhawk unit
with the sid card, never looked into the i/o side yet >yet<
