issue with mame/xarcade/maximus arcade
« on: November 14, 2010, 08:23:24 pm »
I have an x-arcade tankstick and I notice when I play mame, i cant press all buttons at the same time. I find that if player 2 is holding down all buttons, then player  1 is limited to 1 or 2 buttons they can press, and vice versa. I use mame64 .138  and maximus arcade frontend. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue. Im not sure if its mame, or my x-arcade stick. I didnt really notice it untill I played hangtime and had problems when trying to shoot when the other player was trying to go up for an ally-oop.

few more details, I use the tankstick USB. I run windows 7 64 bit clean install. Only software on the pc is mame and maximus arcade. I use the tankstick in default mode (mode 1 i believe).

Update: uh! now Im having an issue with the tankstick via PS/2. Everything works fine, but sometimes you will press a button and it will act like that button is stuck and will keep it pressed. While this is happening you cant do anything untill you press that button again. For example on a game if im holding "right" to move my character, sometime when i try to change directions it will keep running "right" untill I move the joystick to the right again to make it stop. Anyone have any ideas? (aside from geting rid of the tankstick for something else)

Is there any help in this thread where they talk about stuck direction keys?

alread had that issue and fixed it by disabling num lock.. im now waiting on my xarcade to playstation adapters. i have 2 single psx to usb adapers. this will make each side of the controller seperate via usb, and the pc will recognize the xarcade as 2 game controllers instead of a keyboard. This should fix all my problems.ill let you know what happens.

So I got my x-arcade to PSX/playstation2, adapter in the mail today. I used my 2 psx to USB adapters with the x-arcade and remapped the buttons on all my games since my x-arcade is no longer a keyboard, its a game controller. This solved all my problems! Resetting all the buttons for 99 games is a pain, but it was worth it!
