HP LP2065 20 inch

I do not a cab yet not sure if i ever will. As of now this seems like the best solution to retro games "Horizontal and vertical" games. I really would love to have an Arcade monitor 19 inch. Can anyone recommend a new 19 inch that is easy to set up. Im into 70 and 80'sames

I have a $150 discount from HP so it would be around $260 Should I get it or is there something better or an arcade monitor.

Depends on the type of cab you wanna build.  If you can use a LCD I would go for LCD.  It would be awesome!

Well, it's an LCD monitor and has all the disadvantages of such.  I prefer CRT's.

However, as far as LCD's stand the ability to easily rotate is a very convincing feature.

The thing you need to check on is whether or not this display has a noticeable amount of input delay when playing games.

The LCD you mentioned is nice. Just expensive @ 400. I'd go to amazon and look for a refurb....Her are some other possibilities, the Dell is the same monitor as the HP, in a different case. I have one, its really beautiful, and I spent $140 on it @ amazon....

Dell - 2007 FP
NEC - LCD2170NX

The HP is a really nice screen. It has wide viewing angles (IPS) and is super fast (almost no lag). I'm not sure whether the Dell is the same at the lag-aspect (same panel does not mean same electronics). The NEC is different, it's a 21.3 inch PVA screen. Bigger and better blacks, but a lot slower (2-3 frames input lag).

Don't go for the Happ. It is not very clear about the panel used, but it feels like TN (angles for IPS/PVA are mostly 88/88/88/88 or 178/178, not around 80/160). Another thing is the aspect of the Happs, it is 4:5. Sure it does offer CGA input, but unless you have a real PCB, this is useless for PC use. Any modern videocard has way more scaling options than built in CGA scalers.

Do you have any videos or pics of your monitor. Also is it in a cocktail or cabinet or none at all.

For arcade games I recommend the Sony PVM series.  Mitsubishi and NEC also make good monitors.  These are all professional video monitors that come in a case like a TV but can take arcade resolutions.

I personally use a Mitsubishi AM-3501R

I wrote a review here: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=94775.msg1093864#msg1093864

For you I think one of the newer PVM's would be just right.
Maybe something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/SONY-TRINITRON-COLOR-VIDEO-MEDICAL-MONITOR-PVM-20L2MD-/150519176672?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item230ba45de0

If you really want the ultimate though I recommend tracking down an NEC XM29.  That seems to be the rolls royce of pro studio monitors when it comes to arcade games.
