X-Arcade Trackball only moves up and down...and it's not broken RESOLVED

I have the X-Arcade trackball. When plugged into my WinXP computer it only works up & down. I've tried uninstalling all other mouse drivers, switching between PS/2 and USB, unhooking the "cheat" button, etc. It shows up correctly under Device Manager: as a Samsung mouse and as a HID device...and the drivers are up-to-date.

I would say there might be a physical problem with the trackball except it works perfect when I plug it into my laptop running Vista.
The difference is under Device Manager it shows up as an HID compatible mouse and as an HID device.

I sent a message to X-Arcade's customer service a few days ago but have not yet received a reply.

Anyone have suggestions?

update:

I just received an email from Jeremy of X-Arcade. He is sending replacement PCB's to me that will hopefully fix the problem.
