Smallville

I stopped watching at the end of Season 8 and I said I wouldnt watch it ever again after the whole seaosn's build up was about the battle between Doomsday and Clark and Clark killed Doomsday in 10 minutes.  Come on!!  really!?!??!?!?  It was the last straw, I was going to give up on the show a long time before that but I was always waiting for him to put a S on his chest and fight crime....  which he did start to do in season 9.

Anyways, I started watching season 9 because I am traveling so much and at first I thought it was stupid how the brought Zod back AGAIN but i just finished the season last night and I thought it was great and when Martha gives him the Red and Blue tights it was the biggest oh ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- moment in a long time on that show.  I started season 10 and it looks like its going to be awesome.

Any other fans here?

I'm not a big fan, but I enjoy the show.  I've really been liking how they've been bringing in so many other heroes like Hawkman and Dr. Fate and having Green Arrow as a regular.  This final season will hopefully be really good since it should mostly be about Clark finally becoming Superman (instead of a hero who hides from the public).

You'll love season 10 then.  Lex Luther is billed as coming back but who comes back is actually a 50 year old clone of him and he dies in the first episode.  In the third episode Darksyde appears but instead of being a super powered god he's nothing but black mist and crows???  This ball of "darkness" posseses people.  Yeah you know, EXACTLY like the first time that zod appeared.   Oh but it gets worse.  He's defeated when supergirl holds here magical bracelet in front of him.

Don't get your hopes up about clark becoming costumed btw.... that's the hook for this final season.  Most likely he'll put it on in the final shot of the final episode and it'll be on-screen for all of 30 seconds.  Best-case scenario he'll put it on at the beginning of the final episode.

Don't take it too seriously man... this is one of those time waster shows.  Never at any one point has the show been any good.  It used to be a lead in for buffy and now it's a lead-in for supernatural.  That's all it is, a time-slot filler.  That being said I find it entertaining to see how the shows producers are going to take a small budget and poor writing to ruin one classic dc character after another.  THAT is why I've watched the show for so many years... to see just how bad it'll get.

I've been waiting for Season 9 to finish downloading for over a week!
Cant wait though, ive just gone through all 8 series in a row

I thought about doing it again, this time scoring how many times each character has been:

kidnapped
knocked unconscious
been "not themselves"
died
shot
etc

Lex was shot 3 times in Season 3.  And early on in the show, Season 3 and 4 were excellent

It does suck that Micheal Rosenbaum jumped ship because Supman without Lex Luthor is no Superman at all

and youre right about the suit, it will likely just be the final episode...  maybe theyll make a smallville movie

:D I cannot believe this show is still going. They filmed a lot of the city shots around the corner from where I work in Cloverdale. But I haven't seen the Smallville film crews up here in a few years, so I figured the show went bust. And being an extra has probably got to be the worst job in the world. I pity those fools.

Used to love the show - watched up to Season 5 religiously.  Then, for some reason, I gave it up.  Not sure why.  I might revisit it someday, but I'm in the same boat - Rosenbaum was amazing as Lex, and since he's no longer with the show, there's little draw for me.  Now, Ms. Kreuk...  That might bring me back.

It looked like there was a lot of deep character and story development  discussions about the show, but If you’re just watching it because of a female actress then you're "my parents are chaperoning me to the dance" gay.

Well when they brought the Fortress of Solitude in and JorEl in there was a lot of really interesting clark kent development, the relationship between Clark and his Kryptonians and Earth family was always stressed.  Overall the show was really good and original, but it did turn into a soap opera several times.

Eh not really man.....  In the early seasons clark kent was possibly the dumbest character in the history of television, believing every villian to be good and his friend.  In the middle seasons it was the whole "clark busts into lex's house all pissy because lana is kidnapped... lex denies any involvement and helps clark with some info....  clark comes back and sort of apologizes with the whole 'i'm watching you' line.... the last few minutes of the show reveal that it was lex all along"  These later seasons have mostly been about clark and green arrow being mopie about girls.  Mind you that's a nice change of pace, but it gets real old real fast.

That being said, like I mentioned before... it's still quite fun to watch despite being awful.  It's a guilty pleasure.
