WTB: Cockpit cabinet shell!
« on: October 06, 2010, 03:24:49 pm »
Hey guys, I remember awhile ago finding a website that has arcade cockpit shell kits but can't find it!  Its basically just the shell for the cockpit (a little like the star wars one and Lost World Jurassic Park cabinet.  Anyone know where I can get one, or know the site i'm talking about?

hey thanks for the link..yea I saw that one before but isnt the site I was thinking of.  Thanks though man..I'm possibly looking for something like the Lost World Sit Down cab.  This way I can have two seats side by side and put a steering wheel in there + light guns and a big LCD or Projector.  One of these days..I will find one!

Oh well - I'll keep an eye out for anything else. Did you check through the wiki? They list some companies which might have it:

This is going to take some patience.  I'm really looking for a Lost World Arcade deluxe cab.  Its the 2 person sit-down jeep looking machine.  I'm in the cocktail cabinet mode because I saw a Lost World cab go for $100 on ebay the other day but it was a 16 hour drive from me!!  Only if it was half of that but still for $100 it was a cab (in decent shape I guess).  I just want that cab so I can put a giant DLP projector in there and mount a steering wheel to the left side so I can have a 2 person shooter and driver cab.  So now I must wait until one comes available in the North East...lets see how many years this takes :)

See if you can find local operators that might have one just sitting around. the good thing about the big cabs is that no-one really wants them, so you can usually get a great deal on them. Also, be on the lookout for semi-local auctions. There are always some going in Jersey somewhere.

yea i've been trying to find some auctions...this past week I found one that went for $100 in Chicago!!...it would have been a 15 hour drive 1 way (thinking about flying there 1 way) but it just didn't work out...ahhh maybe I should have done it...what a deal!  Problem is I live in Manhattan :) and I have a feeling my girlfriend wouldn't want a cab the size of a Jeep sitting in our living room.  The idea was to store it at my parents place in NJ haha and hold on to it till I moved into the burbs.  I got time :)
