Best Emulators for each system
« on: September 28, 2010, 06:54:23 am »
Hi all

Wanted to get a general overview about the emulators you all use in your cabs. I have MaLa front end but am still deciding whether to set up another PC with Maximus Arcade or Hyperspin (or any other recommended FEs)… Planning to add emlulators for the following systems and wanted to see what was the most popular and integrates well with MaLa (or others) in full screen:

1)   NES
2)   SNES
3)   Sega Master System
4)   Sega Mega Drive (or should I say Genesys for my cross-Atlantic friends!)

Thanks in advance…
BadgerJohn

Yes, there is. http://nebula.emulatronia.com/descargas.php
It runs extremely smooth even on older hardware. You can have multiple clients linked also, which is a great feature if you wan't to beat your friends in SEGA Rally etc :)
Building, collecting and playing arcade machines :)

Running GameEx (Registered version) with the following emulators:

1) Nestopia
2) ZSNES
3&4) Kega Fusion.

So, basically, same as the above, just a different FE.

Cheers guys! Makes it easier to choose when everyone uses the same! I'll get downloading those tonight. Any tips needed for any to run full screen or all petty straightforward?

On a Mac, go to:
http://www.bannister.org/software/
This guy ported all the best emu's to the mac, so it's as easy as Mac is supposed to be :)

Oh, and for mame,
Get SDL MAME.

I'm in the process of setting this up on my machine and all I get is either a black screen or the emulator crashes saying it encountered a problem. everything is pointing to the right place but the games won't start. I'm using a P4 3Ghz with 1gb ram and a geforce4ti 4200. Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

I believe my problem is the lack of Pixel Shader 2.0 compatibility with my graphics card. Would anyone happen to have a copy of 0.8 as it seems they have taken it off their site now 0.9 has been released. I'd be very grateful to anyone who can help. Thanks.
