What do you think of this cocktail CP layout?
« on: September 02, 2010, 10:46:22 pm »
Have a look at the cocktail layout below and let me what you think. This is going to be my first build, and I'm really wanting to know people's opinions of where I've placed the coin and start buttons. I think the empty space to the left of the joystick will be good to rest my hand on, and I didn't want to take that space up. I'm planning on keeping these buttons on the left side of both panels. This means that one set will be up against the wall and the other will be on the outside. Thanks.

I think its as good as it can get with the limited space you're working with. I like the top panel with 6 buttons (street fighter FTW), and it doesn't seem cluttered which can be a problem with 6-button cocktail layouts. Plus, the curved button layout is a thumbs up.

looks nice are you fabricating the metal yourself?  Or having someone make it?

you adding pinball buttons on the side too?

any photos of your cocktail build?

the lay out is good for sega genisis games too.

My cousin has a machine shop and is going to take a stab at it. He lives 2000 miles from me so I'm just going to send him the dimensional drawings. Hopefully it turns out alright.

I hadn't even considered this until now actually.

It's not been built yet, but it's basically going to follow the plans for a Ms. Pacman cocktail.

Yeah it is. I'll have to look into that.
