mala on dell inspron 600m

I'm haveing a lot of trouble with my front end MaLa on my laptop.    (dell inspron 600m)
  I can get the program to start just after windows starts,
but for the life of me it wont open the mame emulator.   
The rom list is correct, but the games wont run unless I close/minimize  the front end and turn on the emulator myself & then minimize the mame emulator and return to mala.
  (not very arcade to require a mouse on the cp )


       how do I get the stephan windus mala front end to auto run the  mame32  0.103u2    ?!?
                  (and the other emulators for that matter)

    .... and also is there a way to remote start a laptop without physicaly pushing the power on the laptop itself inside a cab?
  a program or .... something?
