please show use what a 12v LED looks like... you may want to go buy a couple hundred regular LEDs on ebay for 5 bucks

Nevermind

Bank voltage select terminals can set banks of the LED Wiz to use external supplies.   This means you can set it up to use a 12V supply for your 12 V LEDs.   See the LED WIZ documentation for details.

the LEDwiz drives LED's with 5 voltsy (LED's run on 3 or less volts) ...the ones you have seen have a higher ohm rating resistor to make them operate on 12 volts. these are not the correct LED to use with the LEDwiz. these LED's require a smaller ohm resistor to allow them to operate at 5 volts.

if you do purchase this item, the instructions included show how you have to hook them up.

from the manual:
Quote
LED's are like goldfish. They don't know when to stop consuming and will "pop" if you feed them too much. For this reason, you must install a resistor in series with the LED to limit the current to an amount that will make the LED bright and happy.

The LED wiz only uses 5 V if the usb supply is used or an external 5V supply.   In reality you can switch any voltage up to about 40V  You just have to follow the directions on how to wire up the separate banks.

Well it's one or the other for power.  You can either get yourself a molex female 4-pin connector and wire it up so it connects to the 5v wire and ground of the PS's Molex connector (or do a quick and dirty "snip" of one of the plugs and just use that) or power through USB (which doesn't provide as much power but may be adequate for what your plans are).

I bought all my [RGB] LED's through Groovygamegear and did not need to wire resistors separately (they are included).   Just a thought to save some trouble.

Oh, I got you.   I thought you meant USB for power.
