What kind of glue sticks to Happ Pushbuttons?
« on: August 07, 2003, 09:31:32 pm »
I finished my first CP today  :)
It's not as full featured as I originally planned. No trackball, no spinner. But there's room for them later.

So, is there any substance I can use to glue an object to a button?

I would use the plastic fastner the buttons came with and if you really want them very tight use a pushbutton wrench.  The wrench can be found on Happ's for about $3.

Gluing them in does not sound like the greatest idea, but then again you may have a reason too.  Explain!

If you really must glue them, I imagine epoxy would work just fine.

I'd probably be flamed to a crisp if I said what I had to destroy to aquire the "mysterious object." Let's just call it a piece of aluminum.

You're right! But it is still super mysterious and I stand by what I said before...epoxy would work just fine.

Oh crap, it's not a cone from an Atari button is it? Although that sounds wierd but it was the worst sacrilige I could think of.  ;)

Aluminum... 5 minute epoxy is your best bet. Scuff the plastic and score the aluminum for maximum adhesion.
If you build a frankenpanel, chances are I don't care for you as a person.

Perhaps he is building a Boonga Boonga panel and needs to glue the, um never mind, I don't want to give anyone any ideas.  ;D
