The wierd thing is it looks like a manufacturing defect on Atari's part. The lower assembly centers relative to the anchor pin/nut, but the pin/nut aren't parallel to the handle assembly. It would work perfectly if the shaft could be rotated in the handle assembly, but the set screws that hold it on go into threaded holes in the shaft. It looks like a replacement steering shaft from RAM will fix it.
Yeah, my ebay yoke cost is getting closer to RAM's lovely new one. I like fixing stuff though so it's okay.
