Meh.  Too much wasted space around the monitor, and then... the X-arcade. :puke

interesting design, but they really need a bigger monitor and a custom control panel instead of x-arcade.  if you would stick a 32" lcd in there, that could be kinda cool

This isn't the same guy that had the other Kiosk-Mame that wanted a Jeep for trade, is it?

Why would you want to watch movies on that thing?   Also, never buy video game hardware from someone who hasn't learned it's spelled "Mortal Kombat".    And also, I like my arcade machines looking like arcade machines, not some ugly Ikea-looking shelf with a Space-Saver TV jammed in there.

First thing I thought was Ikea too  :)

It's ok, I guess but the screen's too small on those units, they don't really blend in, yet they don't look like a traditional arcade cab either, so they just kinda stick out, in the wrong way, if you ask me.

Cabinet design is unique, looks like furniture. I can picture those in a kitchen blending in with counters and appliance. But the tiny LCD screen and X-Arcade sticks gotta go.

I'd still stick to a retro, traditional design over a modern design anyway.

I agree with everyone on this thread pretty much I am more a traditional kinda guy myself.

The Ikea comment was dead on LOL

They really though to me look like left over mall kiosk find it kind of hard to believe they would make a the curves and add the nice speakers then go cheap on the stick and the screen.

How hard would it have been to transfer over the x-arcade stuff over to a matching top if you didnt want to mess buying the parts individually, and the small screen I guess was the cheapest they had access to.

Just one of those things that make you go hmmmmm

Just for fun I pulled the dimensions of a 32" LCD-LED TV (Sharp AQUOS 32" 1080p 120Hz LED - LCD HDTV LC-32LE700UN) and roughly sketched up the kiosk in my cad program of choice.

With a 32" wide screen it feels a little chunky.. but I do kind of like the design..

Would it need to be a 32?  Maybe a 26" would be a better fit. I'll admit it's growing on me a little over the past day. Definitely not authentic, but does have a retro future feel that I'm attracted to. Definitely ditch the Xarcade, but I could see it working where other cabs might not... Shame he doesn't list the price

I don't think the space around the monitor would look so open if the monitor was designed to rotate. In hortizontal position, you'd have space above and below, in vertical, the space would shift to either side. And yeah, it does look like ikea it'd fit in an apartment with ikea stuff. But the footprint seems pretty small and the cabinet looks nice enough. For some would-be collectors that might be the significant reasons that convince the significant other to accept an arcade cabinet in your swedish apartment.

Zero, I'm curious how much they run just for kicks. Definitely european inspired. Hard to really love it, but I do like the lines on the brushed alum model.

$3800 for the wood base model and moved on up from there.

seriously ??  :o 3,800 ? omg , thats shockingly overpriced  :dunno

lads, i may start up a business building some cabs , because if thats what the asking price is for that of piece of Sh.. , i could easily
charge 1,500 euro for a direct copy of my cab with everything in it and fully vinyled  ;)

honestly, if i had proper workspace where i could cut 8x4 sheets and build a cab comfortably , i be in business tomorrow, i promise you.
but im outta luck really on expanding anything to be honest. recession hit hard and banks dont want to know you these days if you want
to set up a business.

Wow, that is pretty steep. I know I could build myself one of that design, but never would. Well, never say never

I kind of like the main body design, but the upside down staircase in the middle is just plain ugly.

For $3800 he might as well use a custom CP instead of the Xarcade!

On another note - I saw this for $100:
Yep, it's a "modified" TV Tray   :laugh2:

Dear lord. Am I seeing things or are the button mechanics completely exposed under those "tables"?

Ugh.

HAHA! That TV tray idea is so crazy, I actually kinda like it! :lol If the tray would stay steady and the mechanics weren't exposed, it's actually not a bad product, and $100 is reasonable when you look at what controls + encoder + wiring + shipping costs.

And on the original topic, that is one of those odd items that I think would appeal to very few people because it falls into a weird middle ground. If someone is really into arcade cabs, they're not gonna be happy with this because it doesn't look like a cab, and if someone just wants to play games with real arcade controls, you could either build or buy a custom panel to hook up to your PC for a hell of a lot less than $3800. I guess maybe the game playing IKEA crowd might go for it though. :P ;)
