Help With ELO 1545

I am really hoping that someone can help me with my problem, I have had luck in the past reviewing past posts to try and figure out my problems but on this one I am stuck.  I really hope this is something simple, and the dang thing isn't broke for good.  So here is the issue I am having I bought this touchscreen a year ago, had it installed, downloaded the drivers, used touchscreen software for jukebox, everything worked perfectly.  I had to do some rearranging/organizing of the components of the system, during this process I unhooked all components.  I rearranged everything and hooked everything back up, but this is where the problem occured.  The Elo touchscreen would not power on, I had everything connected as previously to the same computer.  As said before it had been a year since I connected so my memory isn't the best, I can't remember if there is a power button that I am not seeing.  I looked at the manual for this screen and it states there is a button located by the power cord connector that would turn the power on, but I definately do not see this.  There is a collection of buttons on the side of the Elo but I am thinking that this controlled the video of the screen.  So this is where I am at, screen is connected as previously, but no powering up.  I am hoping with all the people around here that owns this model someone might have experienced this same issue.  If it helps this is the same Elo that was for sale awhile back that everyone bought on ebay.

I have the same unit, and while mine too does not have the switch on the bottom that the docs indicate, I do know it is one of those in the cluster on the side. I'm not near mine now, but it's either the top most or bottom most (I'm thinking bottom), but just go and press them all independently and see what happens.

I plugged in the power, vga, and usb then I pressed all the buttons as you said but nothing happened.  I would like to note that I did not mess with the screen while organizing things so I don't think I could have happened to ruin the screen in the process.  Can you confirm what button it is?  I really wouldn't think that by an act of God this unit would just stop working at the same time I was simply unplugging cords.  On a side note, I really hate when things like this happen, first my arcade monitor craps out on me and now this......sometimes you just can't win.....

I won't be able to check for a while, so hang in there.  Also try changing the power cord. I had one once that had fried some sort of internal fuse.

Yep, tried swapping out cords......I just really hope that it isn't the dang monitor, I mean I really hope it isn't..

Bottom-most button is the power. It sort of stands away a  bit from the rest of the cluster of buttons.

If you're still hosed, it most likely didn't happen "in storage" per se, but something gave up the ghost when you happened to plug it back in.

Usual culprits are capacitors I hear. You might be better served posting over in the Monitor/Video forum. Good luck!

PS - What happens if you cycle the power switch and shine a flashlight on the screen (assuming you hook this up to a working computer)? Can you see anything? Just wondering if it is your backlights that are out.

Tried the power cycling and the flash light, nothing was seen.  I am starting to think that the unit is just done.  I think that it is just weird that this came out of no where.  Anyone have anyother suggestions?

On mine no power button on the bottom near power connector but the bottom button on the RHS turns the power on and off.   Check the ELO site for power lockout.   I think some models let you use the side switches in combination to lock out the power button.   Not sure if the 1545 had this feature.

To lock the power:
1. Press the menu and button simultaneously until a window displaying “power unlock” appears.
Continue to hold the buttons until the “Power Lock”.
2. To unlock the power repeat the procedure until the “Power Unlock” is displayed.

FWIW, if it is indeed done, don't just toss it.  Odds are the screen is still good and can either be saved for a future replacement or sold on e-bay for a few bucks.  I had one that a seller shipped w/o one.  It was cheaper for me to keep it than send it back.  He sent me a repalcement and I was happy.  Then someone I knew had a spare screen from when they used to be the mfg rep for Elo.  He gave it to me and now I have a free monitor!

As a last ditch effort if nothing else helps there is usually a fuse inside the unit that can be accessed by disassembling the screen.  It has to have some sort of safety on the 120 VAC in and since there is no exterior fuse the must be some protection inside the case.
