Rowe R-83A Jukebox
« on: August 10, 2010, 05:11:52 pm »
I just purchased this jukebox for fun.  It was playing the records fine then all of a sudden it stopped playing them.  Say I select 103.  It pull the record, places it down, but when the needle drops down on the record, it only stays there for a second and then lifts back up.  I hope I am explaining this ok.  I am new at this jukebox thing.

Hello,
It sounds to me that your auto cancel is out of adjustement. This is adjusted by a set of screws at the rear of your tone arm. This is
not a major problem But I would suggest strongly that you procure a manual for the unit so that you can set it to specs. Otherwise
you could likely find someone locally to come in and set the adjustments for a fee.

Hi Amy,

Keep the tone arm in the lifted position so the auto reject can not come into action.
Retest to see if all ok, if not remove one of the cables that go to the spades on each side of the cut off reed switch (cable colours orange and black) and retest.

Also check the reject on the back of the jukebox or remote for a short in the switches or wiring.

Again if you do not have a manual please get one for your jukebox model, that way any person giving advice can direct you to the correct area.
