alright i got this Super Masters control panel and marquee. both are in pretty good shape. here is a picture of both...

the marquee has one little scratch on the back of it, which i have a pic of if you are interested. its glued on plexiglass so you wont have to buy any more for it. the control panel works as far as i know, i never played it, and the only thing thats worn is the front player 1 button...the little man is kinda worn off. shown here

Came off a 25" Jamma cab, did it? Looks like a standard Dynamo cabinet CP.

Eh. As far as I know the game isn't emulated, nor are the controls really usable with anything. Just figured I could put the marquee on the wall, and save the panel for when the game does become emulated.

Plus I kind of wanted to see how the controls worked.

Seems like an interesting control. I wonder how it works. You think it uses a potentiometer or a spinner-type control? By the looks of the underside I've got my money on "potentiometer".

It looks to me like it contacts several different strips as it is pulled back. But I am not sure. That is the main reason I put in a bid. Just to see what is up with it.

If those strips are independant of each other then there sure are a whole bunch of them. That would sure make for an overly-complicated digital device. Couldn't possibly imagine where you would hook up so many wires to it, either. Maybe that part of the picture is hidden...

yeah its kinda like a spring loaded type thing thats on a spinner type mechanism. i dont know all the fancy words for it, but when you pull the lever down towards the bottom, and then let go, it snaps back to the top...just like a golf swing would work.

Paige and I were discussing the contact mechanism, though. There's no doubt that it rotates, but we were wondering if it's analog or digital. And if it's analog, is it a true rotary device or does it use a potentiometer?

My guess would be reed switches and a magnet on the swing arm. Just a guess based on the shape of the bits on the PCB.
