different versions of Mame in MA

I there a way to have more than 1 version of mame in MA preferably in the same list?

so you could run one rom from one version and a different rom from a another version of mame

Unfortunately, although it was a very popular request to have multiple versions of MAME supported in MA, it was never added.  However apps like Multimame should do the trick:  http://multimame.wikidot.com/

I think I attempted to configure Multimame once and it seemed too technical at the time so I abandoned it.  I ended up finding another version of MAME that solved my problem so there was no need to pursue it.  If I recall, you needed to edit XML files to configure Multimame.

As far as the snaps go, I haven't tried it, but theoretically, you shouldn't have to do anything since your are pointing to the Multimame executable in Maximus Arcade.  Nothing else changes; so the snaps and video directories remain the same.

I wouldn't mind messing with it again though.  Perhaps we should start a new thread with the subject:  "Using Multimame in Maximus".  Then we can post various configurations and contents of the multimame.xml files.  Thoughts?

D-

That sounds good

I won't have time to mess with it for a while though, (september?)
but when I do I'll post my findings

Essentially I'd like to get the following into one master "Arcade" list

Mame(a couple versions, game dependent)
Daphne
MisfitMame especially for DKII (I own and run the physical rom chip on my DK cab but I'd love to run it on my bartop and upcoming portable system)
Zinc
