Awecades32 Interface
« on: July 31, 2010, 12:22:43 pm »
Just wanted to let everyone know I'm finishing up a new product that will be released very soon.   Was going to release today, but I want another 2 weeks to finalize a few things.

Its called the Awecades32 and its a 32 connector interface board with built in trackball or 2 spinner support interface.

It has:

2 player joysticks (HID Mapped game controller 4 way inputs for each player)
6 buttons plus 1 spare (7 total) per player side.

Player 1 and Player 2 start buttons (mapped as HID keyboard keys 1 and 2)

Coin Credit button on both sides (mapped as HID keyboard key 5)

2 Ground lines per side
1 5vdc+ on each side (for light up josyticks and accessories.)

trackball or dual spinners map as standard HID Mouse device X&Y

Will come in two versions (deluxe with screw terminals for easy no solder connections) and basic without the screw terminals for permanant soldered connections)

Prices haven't been totally finalized, but will be around $37.99 for the deluxe and $32.99 for the basic version.

There will be additional discounts if you buy 2 or more, so there will be even more added savings.

I'm going to see about getting a unit to Gameroom Mag for a review, but if there are any other publications or sites that will post a review of the interface, email me please.

These will go up onto my store site at: http://www.thejoystickstore.com

Thanks,
Curt

I would look around for a popular forum, maybe one dedicated to building your own arcade controls - I'm sure one exists somewhere.  Then try and talk to a long standing, prolific builder, someone who is established and trusted by the community and get them to review it.

Just a thought, looks great btw - would love to see some opinions on it!

Thanks, I will do that...

On the spare (7th) button, I'm wondering if I should change each one (on both the player 1 and player 2 sides) to perhaps instead of being HID gamepad buttons to instead be more HID keyboard keys, and maybe map one to be an (ESC) key for exiting a game and the other to maybe be a (TAB) key to access Mame config menu's in the games?

I will look to post in the DIY'ers forums and get some addtn'l feedback and suggestions.

Thanks again!
