New tv in Street Fighter 2?
« on: July 23, 2010, 03:25:34 am »
Hello,
I have the game board of Street Fighter 2 and the t.v. went out before i got it and the person before me had disconnected the TV from any type of wiring to the game board if that is even where the TV plugs into. I have no idea on old arcade machines or even knowing now game boards work but i thought that this would be a good start to a collection of many more arcades to come. But first i need to get it to run. I know that the game board has power because when you turn it on the sound plays the only thing i need now is picture so any help on how to make the TV work would be very helpful. And sorry this is pretty stupid but how does a game board work and if i were to buy more boards could i use the same cab to run them thank you for any help.

Call it a monitor, not a tv. (you'll have a better chance at finding the info you need searching for that term).

Call it an arcade game, or arcade machine. An arcade is a place with many games.  ;)

Lastly, but more helpful, post photos so we know what you're looking at. Photo of the monitor circuit board and photo of the disconnected wires. We'll tell you where to connect them.

WOW, I would suggest researching stuff your going to buy before you actually buy it. For one while arcade games are great the monitors can give you a nice zap so don't touch until you have a real good understanding of what your doing.

I have found out what the problem was. I was missing a transfer box that allows you do hook up your monitor and makes it able to adjust all the ajustments for the screen and i didn't do to much reshearch before i bought it because it was given to me. I will post pictures.

I'm back to work on this project. I am thinking about using it as a mame cab now. But I have a few questions about Street Fighter II. Is it worth building a new cab for it i was thinking a bartop? Is it worth the money I will be spending to make it work. I do love arcades so please don't take it the wrong way just when money is an issues on building a bartop including a monitor, sideart and everything else put into the machine. On the board i haven't been able to even tell if it will work but when I plug it in and have to turn it on and off bewteen 6 to 10 times and then I will hear some music playing is that a problem or is that just the way it works. I have no idea on old boards.
