NARC Cabinet Question
« on: July 09, 2010, 02:26:26 pm »
I tried searching klov by manufacturer to see if any other titles shared the same cabinet design as NARC because it seems like a great design for a light gun cab, but I've so far been unsuccessful.  Anyone know if this would be a good idea or not?  Or if there is another cab that has the same design?

Would it work well for a light gun MAME?

Also, is there a place to download some of the blueprints for the dimensions for these things?  Sorry, I'm a relative noob.

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

Turn a generic cab into a light gun cab. Leave the unique ones to restorations.

i agree...but it sounds like he is looking for plans, which indicated that he may want to build one from scratch that looks like a narc cabinet...so i'm all forthat

Originally, I was going to try and MAME out a NARC cab, but seeing that there are so few of them (that I could find) I figured it would be nicer to maybe look for a less desirable game that had the same design.  Finding none, I thought to maybe just make one from scratch using plans.  Even though I don't necessarily agree with the hardcore restoration only mindset, I was trying to be considerate and respectful.

Still looking for plans if someone wants to help me out.  If someone here has this cab and would be willing to take some measurements for me, I'd appreciate it immensely.

I'm not sure how this is any better than any other light gun cab.  I personally find that a rather ugly design, but that's just me.  As long as the screen is essentially vertical, you should be fine with any cab you build or buy.

Wasn't there a dual-screen version, or does my childhood memory fail me? Surprised to not see it coming up in google...

I just think it's a unique looking cab.  I'm the kind of person who tends to like things that are a bit outside the box.  My last car was a Honda Element.  ;)
