I'd really like to wet my feet in the whole artwork department, but don't know where to start. I have a bunch of questions, so if anyone could answer some, I'd really appreciate it.

First, what is vector artwork?  ???  I understand it doesnt distort like pixelated artwork, but what is the difference exactly? How do you make it

What programs should I have to do this stuff. Right now I only have Paint Shop Pro, and Photoshop. Also, does anyone have any tutorials on these progs? I just got them recently and there are only 7 billion commands for them  :P  I'd just like something that can get me farmiliar with it hopefully. I'm looking into getting a book perhaps.

Also, any other tips you can give would be great. What to start on? things to try, whatever. I'm really a clean slate here, and I'm really interested in seeing if I can put some ideas to reality. Thanks.
