These look to be cheaper and you can design your own if you want.

that's the place I used.  I might even be able to find the template that I sent them.
My CPs for my MAMEd galaga cocktail machine are 3 buttons each, U360 sticks, and look like this:

here's the templates to send to arcadeDepot for drilling:

http://www.waste.org/~winkles/winterMAME/pix/winterMAMEP2.jpg

and here's the overlay artwork that I ended up using, printed by mameMarquees

This was all done about 2 years ago, things may have changed since then.

I downloaded the 11" panel template. I wanted player 1 and player 2 buttons small button for exit so I can get back to the game menu, Joystick and 3 fire buttons.

Would this layout work? or would it be too cramped.

I think personally you want as much space between the joystick and buttons for a small CP like that. If you want to keep all of the buttons on the top of the CP I would suggest moving the coin/credit/esc buttons in the middle, something like:

If it was me though I would remove the coin/credit/esc buttons from the CP top completely and move them to the vertical face of the CP. You would be then left with more room on the CP top and I would do a layout like this:

I'm not sure if Arcade Depot give you the option to put holes in the front face. If they don't you could always put them in yourself or failing that I wouldn't mind doing them for you (I'm in the UK too )

If you do put them in the front just make sure they don't foul on the other buttons. I would use Japanese buttons which are much shorter and definitely wouldn't foul but you may have an issue with 'Happ' style buttons.

Yeah I like that Idea will give it a try. Any ideas what I can do for a Taito Cocktail Cabinet it does not have a aluminium control panel like my Space Invaders one does. I thought about plexi but wasnt sure if I could cut the holes for buttons etc. I then thought about so thin wood painting it black and getting something printed?

What does your Taito cocktail have in the way of a control panel at the moment?

Acrylic (plexi) is easy to cut with the right tools and techniques.
