Aimtrack not recognized by MAME
« on: June 23, 2010, 05:11:38 pm »
Hello all,

First time caller here.

I'm adding some light-guns to my bartop using Ultramarc's Aimtrack.

I've modded a pair of old PSone Enforcer Revolvers (even cannibalized the existing micro-buttons) and seems to work well (based on the calibration tool) - however MAME won't recognize the guns.

I think I may have missed something. Any ideas?

FYI - I'm using ATOMIC-FE & MAME 1.35b

Be seeing you,

WonderAlex

First off, outside of MAME do they work? For example, on my Windows desktop I can move the gun around and it will control the mouse. If it does work there, then you probably have mouse settings off in the MAME.ini file.

Or you just haven't configured it yet in the game.

Hello,

Nope - they worked fine outside of MAME. And yep - I didn't know I had to edit the MAME INI file.

Thanks to you and Andy - all that was missing was letting MAME know the guns were installed by editing the INI file THEN configuring them in MAME.

Thanks,  now they work very well - provided you stand far enough away. ;)

Be seeing you,
