Well, after looking over the paint, and re-setting all the t-molding, I decided it didn't look half bad. Seeing as how it lives in the garage in New England, we'll get to use it probably 5 months out of the year anyway.
So I got to installing the Xin-Mo, trimming some game lists, configuring controls, and mounting the t.v., this is where we are at. Just got to work on a bezel, and plexi on front.
Couple annoying things:
1. Can't get Mame32 to work with the controls. Maybe I'm stupid, but I can't seem to configure them?? I thought Mame pretty much saw the Xin-Mo as a keyboard encoder, but it doesn't recognize the controls. Checking out the Mame files, even when I find a controller tab, I don't even see options for coin up, etc.
2. SuperNintendo, while 4 way system seems to have an issue with "charging" in games like Killer Instinct. I move the joystick left to hold "back", and the character seems to go diagonal lower left. Might just need a more precise hand. I know in the SNES emu that you can enter DL, DR, UL, UR, so might just need to check that out again.
3. Need to upgrade the controls as they are still the gutted X-Gaming ones and aren't very smooth or accurate, but get the job done.
Other than that, it's been a fun week. Had a big cookout yesterday, and it was a hit with grownups and kids alike. Still some tweaking on the frontend and game lists, but happy I can play it now.
