Poor Seller
« on: August 03, 2003, 02:12:18 am »
Poor seller, Spectre (AKA ~SpEcTrE~ - paddy2dope@yahoo.com)  from Chesapeake, VA

I've waited a long time, but the transaction never got resolved.  Story goes as follows (I have an email thread to back this up).

He advertised a video card and some ram amoung some other junk in the following
thread:
http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=7988

I negotiated a price for the video card and ram, and sent the money.  He sent the video card and ram but the video card was not what he said it was.  I offered to send the card/ram back and he could give me a full refund (all I wanted was a TV-Out video card).  He then proceeded to tell me that he didn't have the money (yeah right) and he would send me the right card.

It is now 2.5 months later and I'm still waiting.  He does not respond to my emails (he started responding within minutes, hasn't responded in a couple of weeks).

Please avoid this trader/seller.

FYI,
-V.A.

For what it's worth, I made a good transaction with him. Bought a DVD drive and a p360 joystick...

I dunno...

Considering that he was permanently banned from these forums, I doubt he'll be reading this anytime soon.

He was?  I know Whiskeroids was banned - at least temporarily - but when did this happen with Spectre, and why?

If this is true, then my post won't make much of a difference.  I won't miss him much.  Just wish I had my tv-out card.  >:(

Nice and easy.

You have his home address? Hop on down to your local post office and ask for a mail fraud complaint from. Fill it out, get copies of it and submit it to them. Now find the number of his local police department and tell them about the pending investigation to the fraud, giving them the case number from the documents and such.

Email your intentions to him beforehand. Give him seven days to either send you a refund or the correct card and then press charges.

I know it might sound petty over a video card, but I've been ripped off so many times on Ebay and through CCG trading that this is the ONLY way to get what is owed to you.

This does not surpise me a bit ...

A couple of months ago I had some stuff for trade or sale and he posted a bunch of garbage on my thread about how I was asking for too much in return. Of course, he had no intention of buying anything ... just wanting to stir up trouble.

I told him I did not appreciate it privately and he copy and pasted my entire PM into the public forum.

What an ass! I, for one, am glad he won't be coming back.

Take one look at his website and it will be pretty clear to you that this is not a guy you want to be dealing with.

When a person is banned is there any indication of this on their profile or does it show somewhere?

Just wondering how we would know.
