Dynamo HS-9A Cabinet; Specs, Manual, Info HELP!!!!
« on: June 12, 2010, 11:58:07 pm »
I am looking for any info on a Dynamo HS-9A Arcade Cabinet.  I want specs, a manual, any info  :notworthy:

Here is an example of what an HS-9A looks like:

Here is a whole photostream of the restoration of one of these cabinets: http://www.flickr.com/photos/visualsalad/sets/72157604351415763/

I found a Dynamo HS-9A Cabinet with Marvel Vs. Capcom inside for $500.  Its at my local mall here in Guam.  I love that game :)

It's a little banged up, but seems to be fully operational.  The monitor is crisp and clean.  There is no sound however; hopefully an easy fix, since I intend to take it apart and build it back up anyway.  :dizzy:

My hope is to restore this sucker.  I want to have it switchable between its authentic guts and a PC with my Hyperspin Front End installed.  What hardware does Marvel Vs. Capcom run on anyway?

My thoughts are that two Sanwa JLF sticks, some groovy game gear electric ice buttons, a little artwork and some general TLC would leave me with a bitchin home arcade setup :)

Thanks for any info and suggestions!

You will not find anything specific in a Dynamo HS-9A manual to assist you as it is a generic cab and any JAMMA game could end up in one. Since in is jamma you can look that up anywhere (Bob Roberts Site Recommended) and anything specific to the jamma wiring of the game eg stereo you can get from CPS Shock or a manual for the specific game.

KLOV info on game.

Nice compilation on the Dynamo Cabinets.  You don't have my HS-9 listed

I do believe it has a universal style control panel.  I wonder if it has a slide out tray.  I will find out when I receive this sucker on Friday.

The HS-9 has a pull out drawer and metal control panel like that hs-2 on the web page.
Here's a pic of my two:

The one on the left has a standard two-player control panel, but the one on the right has the optional four-player panel.
I only put buttons in for two players, though. It gives me a lot more space.

I worked at Dynamo back in '91-'94 and I collected a lot of spare parts while I was there.
Wish I still had all of it.

I like that blue CP!

If you want to send me some specs I will update the page for the HS-9.

I  have called around to all the Dynamo places to try and get more info but they have been sold so many times its hard. The last place in texas said they threw out all the old manuals and odds and end parts during the last move.

Thanks for posting this. I have been trying to determine which model I had for several years. The one I purchased had a Neo-geo one slot in it with Puzzle Bobble 2. The arcade dealer took the board out before selling it to me. Mine also had the light blue/grey color scheme. I am trying to put a larger monitor in mine but I can't seem to figure out how to remove the glass so I can slide it in the front. Anyone have any tips on how to do this?
