FS: TRON Complete [US / CA / Highland Park 90042]
« on: June 11, 2010, 10:11:25 am »
Hello All,

I picked up a complete and working Tron that had a really bad cabinet, so bad that I had to remove all the guts and ditch the cabinet. So, now I have all the guts and no cabinet. I am looking to either get ahold of a good cabinet or sell the guts as a complete package. I would hate to part it out seeing that everything is original and would rather keep everything together.

If you have a cab or want to pick up the guts ($400.00) let me know.

Yes, it has all the original controls/parts. All that is needed is the cabinet, everything else is there. CP (Spinner/Trigger Stick) , Bezel, Marquee, Supports, Monitor, PCB, Sound Board, PS, Translight (Has small crack), Coin Door, Etc.
One thing to note is that the decals/overlays could use replacing.

Did you read the first thread? :) I would never think of doing something as horrific as that! The fact that I am selling the parts as a complete package or trying to get ahold of a Tron cabinet should support the fact that I am all for preservation. Thanks for the concern though, wish there were more of us out there. :(

Are you anywhere near Lawndale? There's one on ebay for $60 Buy it Now. It says it's 10 minutes from LAX.

I originally was asking $400.00. I know that I could get a lot more $ by parting it out but that is not what I want to do. At this point I will take offers as long as the individual making the offer gives their word that they will not part the guts out themselvs, otherwise what's the point... I know that it won't be possible to retain everything and I'm OK with that, I just dont want someone to break up the package just to make a few bucks. I want to see the package go towards preservation.

If you are interested and promise not to just part it out for cash, then make me an offer. Highest bidder gets the package. Dont forget shipping costs as well.

Thanks for the help... Yes I did see this. Unfortunately, it's a Gorf cabinet, which is 1/4" wider than the Tron cab not to mention that the layout of the monitor, bezel, marquee and CP would need to be redone.

Thanks though.

Uck ... sad thing is that I know folks (myself included) who want a good boardset and I know folks who want a complete CP.  I know that the sum of those two won't get close to $400.

Working: Not Enough
Projects: Too Many
Progress: None

I agree, but what is being offered is the complete package. The only thing missing is the cabinet. The sum of all these parts being sold separately would bring well over $400.00. That being said, I can see how someone would interpret the price as only covering the major components.

So far, no offers. Next step will be to part it out.

I'd be interested in the wiring harness depending on the price if you decide to part it out. If I had the money I'd buy the whole package because I could use the board set as well. The CP, marquee and bezel wouldn't do me any good as I have a Tron cabaret cabinet.

Cabinet found. Now I have a complete and operational Tron for sale. Missing side art (inner and outer), needs new cp overlay and joystick insert. The marquee is original but the paint has started to chip away so its in need of a new one. Other than that, everything is present and working including the monitor, lights, j-stick, spinner, volume control, test and credit switch and the coin door which has the original coin mechs. Also has an upgraded power supply. This machine is good to go. I'll post some pics later on.
