Tornado Spinner and optipac

I know you don't need an optipac for the Tornado Spinner, but I have an optipac and happ trackball. If I buy the Tornado Spinner can I buy pass the encoder board that comes with it and hook straight into the optipac?

Has anyone done this?

You bet...you only need to use the little encoder board with the optical sensors...then run the four wires from it into the Optipac.  Slikstik uses a Happ encoder.

I am doing this, and it works perfectly.
